PATHOLOGY INTRODUCTION

Pathology is consist of two Greek words “pathos” meaning “disease” or “suffering” and “logos” meaning “to study”. It is the branch of medical science which deal with the study of disease and causative agents. Pathology includes study of- Morphological change, structural change, pathological change, pathogenesis and causes, sometime treatment is also studied in modern pathology.

Pathology and medicine are interlinked with each other, but pathology is work as the base of the medicine.

The person who studied about pathology and its factor are called pathologist. Rudolf carl Virchow is known as the father of pathology.

In pathology the main factor is focused about the level of the chemicals , blood and other minerals, vitamins, etc because these are very helpful to reorganise the cause of disease and the way of treatment for cure. Basically in this students study about different types of test and diagnosis with the disease. In this whole body examination is also included.

According to the pathologist every person should have to take there routine check-up in every 3 month to live healthy life because this time take easily diagnosis of any disease if it is growing inside your body. Pathology is one of the important part of the medical science because on the basis of pathological report your doctor proceed your treatment to cure your disease.

SOME IMPORTANT TERMS OF PATHOLOGY YOU HAVE TO KNOW

  • ETIOLOGY –It is the study of the cause of the disease or factor due to which symptoms of disease appears in patients body.
  • PATHOGENESIS – It is the term which is used for study of of the origin and development of disease inside the body. It consist of two Greek words “pathos” meaning “disease” and “genesis” meaning “Creation”.
  • MORPHOLOGY – Study about the structure of any living organism.
  • HOMEOSTASIS – It means to main your body internal environment according to outer envirmonet like temperature of body .
  • LESION – Lesion means any injury or wound in any part of body. It is also called rupture or damage of the tissue of body or any organ inside the body.
  • PATIENT – Patient is the person who has some abnormilty inside there body these may be anatomical or physiological abnormality and they need a medical care or treatment for betterment.
  • HEALTH – It means a person is fit from physically, mentally and socially.

  • Chemical pathology.
